1. Protect and advance the interests of its members and promote growth.
2. Advance quality, food safety and innovation.
3. Focus on national policies, legislation and regulations and when relevant address international / regional / provincial issues.
4. Provide leadership to governments, customers, provincial dairy and other food associations, and consumers to promote the elimination of unnecessary regulations that impede the development of the Canadian dairy processing industry.
5. Advocate a pro-consumer choice and innovation stance in policy and regulatory matters.

Activities

• Represents the interests of the dairy processing sector to the Government of Canada, Dairy Farmers of Canada, Canadian Dairy Commission and federal or provincial government agencies
• Acts as an industry spokesperson on issues relevant to the dairy processing industry
• Has representation at the national Canadian Milk Supply Management Committee (CMSMC)
• Participates in numerous industry committees on behalf of the processing sector such as Secretariat of CMSMC, P5 Technical Committee and the Canadian Laboratory Service's Board of Directors, etc.
• Works with other dairy and food associations on regulatory, legislative and policy issues relevant to the industry.
