November 2017

Fall is award season in the dairy industry. It’s a time to celebrate the industry’s dedication to creating innovative, high-quality, and delicious products for consumers. DPAC is pleased to acknowledge its many award-winning members.

Over the past few months, DPAC members have competed and won a number of awards both in Canada and abroad, including the British Empire Cheese Show and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Ontario, Caseus in Quebec, and the World Cheese Awards.

The British Empire Cheese Show announced its winners on October 31. At this competition, Fromagerie Bergeron, Arla and Bothwell Cheese took home top honours in a number of categories.

Fromagerie Bergeron was also a winner at the Caseus Selection earlier this Fall where, along with DPAC members Agropur and Saputo, the organization won awards for its cheese. In its 19th year, the competition is open to cheesemakers in Quebec.

At the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, DPAC members swept the butter category, with experts from Gay Lea and Parmalat being named Grand Butter Champions. Awards also went to the cheesemakers at Parmalat, Arla and Gay Lea.

Going abroad, cheeses produced in Canada by Saputo were among the winners at the international competition, the World Cheese Awards.

Congratulations to all award winners; these awards celebrate our dairy processors’ dedication to producing high-quality, innovative, and delicious products for Canadians.
