Celebrating a Year of Growth and Accomplishment: DPAC’s 2023 Annual Report

The DPAC team is proud to release its inaugural annual report, showcasing a year of remarkable growth and success for both the association and the dairy processing industry.

The past year brought dairy processors:

  • Compensation for the impacts of the CUSMA agreement with the United States and Mexico
  • Support government efforts to defend dairy tariff-rate quota allocation in CPTPP and CUSMA trade challenges
  • Significant progress in the development of a Grocery Code of Conduct
  • Recognition of the unique nutritional value of dairy products are recognized in Health Canada’s healthy eating strategy

The year ahead includes opportunities to focus on issues that are important to Canadian consumers. This includes the implementation of the new National Farm Animal Care Council Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle to which DPAC was an active participant in developing, as well as developing GHG emission reduction targets to act on recommendations made in last year’s materiality assessment.
