Representing Atlantic Canada’s dairy processing industry

The DPAC Atlantic Committee is focused on addressing the specific regional and provincial challenges that impact the dairy industry in Atlantic Canada.

Established in 2022, the DPAC Atlantic Committee aims to fill an important gap in representation faced by Atlantic Canada’s dairy processing industry. As the national voice of dairy processors, DPAC represents their interests at the Canadian Milk Supply Management Committee, and in discussions with the Canadian Dairy Commission and stakeholders like Dairy Farmers of Canada. While elsewhere in the country, provincial issues are dealt with by provincial and regional processors councils, until recently, Atlantic Canada did not benefit from this same level of coordination.

For DPAC, the Atlantic Committee plays an important role in ensuring national policy positions include the perspectives of Atlantic Canada.

For dairy processors, the Atlantic Committee provides a forum to discuss regional issues. It facilitates regional coordination on industry-wide challenges and supports the development of policy positions that are regional or provincial in nature. This includes collaboration with provincial milk marketing boards and outreach to provincial governments.

Dairy processors with facilities in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador are invited to join the Atlantic Committee of DPAC.
