The Dairy Processors Association of Canada (DPAC) congratulates Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on his party’s election this week and welcomes new and returning Members of Parliament.

DPAC was pleased to see party platforms include commitments to compensating Canada’s dairy sector for the impact of trade agreements. As Members of Parliament return to the House of Commons in the coming weeks, DPAC looks forward to working closely with government and opposition parties to ensure that the previously started work on compensation measures continues under the next Parliament. Further, DPAC will continue to work with the Federal Minister of Agriculture and other members of the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Working Group tasked with exploring options to create the transparent and collaborative environment required for a strong Canadian food supply chain via a Grocery Code of Conduct.
