Final review of Bill C-282 for the Protection of Supply Management

The House of Commons trade committee completed its final review on April 20 of Bill C-282, legislation aiming to protect supply managed sectors in trade negotiations. The trade committee sent the bill back to the House for one more vote. Its passage would then start Senate deliberations. On February 8, 2023, the Bill passed the Commons in second reading by a margin of 293 to 23.
