On October 26, 2022, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a 2023 forecast report for dairy products in Canada. The report forecasts modest growth of 1% for milk in 2023, while butter production is expected to increase to meet the steady demand and to rebuild stocks, and skim milk powder exports will remain stable. Finally, cheese and butter imports are expected to continually increase, in part due to additional duty-free market access provided by recently concluded trade agreements, including the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).
